Black and White Thinking

Black and white thinking is a thought pattern that makes people think in absolutes. for example, you may think you are either always right or the world's biggest failure.

Actually black and white thinking is a bug in our mind and we should debug it

Like programming; in programming, when a code has a bug (error, problem) we must debug it and correct it.

There is also another example for black and white thinking in our lives : when we think something is great, perfect and fault-free and another thing is useless, poor and pointless. For instance we may think working is everything and it’s perfect and having fun with our family or our friends is pointless.

Or we may think playing tennis has a perfect pleasure and it’s great but swimming is wasteful. While it’s not true everything has its own unique pleasure; when we are writing, it has its own advantages, when we are dancing it has its own pleasure, when we are playing, it has its own pleasure, when we talk to each other it has its own unique pleasure.

In psychology, there is personality disorder and its called bipolar disorder people who have this disorder also have this thinking, polarized thinking, all-or-nothing thinking

They believe in everything is all good or all bad.

A tendency to see things as one extreme or the other.
