Dissociative identity disorder (DID)

Identity disorder is a mental process that causes thoughts, memories, feelings, actions & identity not to have a connection with each other. This disorder is caused by factors that include the trauma that the patient has experienced. The main person separates herself from her memories.
About 90% of patients experience severe emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. It's also possible for events such as war or natural disasters. This reaction can be a defense mechanism against physical or emotional pain or a stressful situation.
People with identity disorders have two or more characters. Each character has certain characteristics like name, behavior, and interests; and the original person doesn't remember anything from her other personalities.
Some symptoms of this disorder that can be mentioned are:
Depersonalization
Paranoia
Derealization
Depression
Hearing voices from characters inside the mind
Conflict in personality and behavior.
The treatment of this disorder is impossible with drug therapy. The purpose of therapy is to reconnect all characters to the main person. At the beginning of therapy, two or four personalities are recognized, but after a while, this number reaches thirteen to fifteen.
99% of affected people have experienced major life threats in the critical stage of childhood development. Identity disorder is complex and requires a specialist and lack of treatment can lead to many risks, including suicide.
