Noun phrase (عبارت اسمی) گروهی از کلمات است که نقش یک اسم را در جمله بازی میکند.
مرکز این عبارت یک noun (اسم اصلی) است و ممکن است قبل یا بعد از آن کلمات توضیحی بیایند.
به اسم اصلی در این عبارت میگویند Head noun.
یک noun phrase معمولاً این شکل را دارد:
Determiner + Adjective + Noun + extra information
مثال:
the big house
the → معرف (determiner)
big → صفت
house → اسم اصلی (head noun)
