Marjorie "Margie" Hendrix (sometimes Hendricks) (March 13, 1935 - July 14, 1973) was an American rhythm and blues singer and a member of the Raelettes , who were the backing singers for Ray Charles, Charles Wayne Hendrix's father.

In 1935, Margie Hendrix was born in Statesboro, Georgia to Kattie and Renzy Hendrix. While

still a teenager, she sang, played the piano, and conducted her local church choir. After moving to New York City in the early 1950s, she signed to Lamp Records and released her first singles "Everything", "Good Treatment" and "Every Time" in 1954, but the singles failed to chart, and she left the label in 1955. Having replaced Beulah Robertson on Cookies in 1956, she joined Dorothy Jones and Darlene McCrea. "In Paradise" was the group's #9 hit on the R&B chart. They were introduced to Ray Charles by session singers at Atlantic Records. As part of their audition for Charles' song "Leave My Woman Alone", the Cookies sang the song "Leave My Woman Alone". After leaving the Cookies (who later found greater success with a different lineup), Margie and McCrea formed the Raelettes as Ray's backing vocalists.

Ray Charles recorded his first song with the Raelettes in October 1958, " Night Time Is the Right Time," which reached #5 on the R&B chart. Known for her soulful voice, Margie sings the song well. Ray and Margie began an affair and had a son together, Charles Wayne Hendricks (born October 1, 1959). She wanted Ray to leave his wife Della Beatrice Howard and live with her and their son after giving birth to Charles Wayne, but Ray refused. Ray's relationship with Margie began to fall apart in the 1960s, and she later began using alcohol and heroin, resulting in a decline in her career. Margie and the Raelettes performed on several of his songs. The Raelettes released the single "A Lover's Blues" in 1964 with Margie on lead vocals, but this was her last recording with Ray as Ray fired her from the band in July 1964 while touring in Europe following a heat wave.

She signed a recording contract with Mercury Records and released five singles, two in 1965 and three in 1967, but they were not hits and were later shelved, increasing her use of alcohol and more harmful drugs. She married jazz singer Robert Fulson, the brother of singer Lowell Fulson, in March 1966.When Margie was driving with Robert in Texas on September 7, 1967, a lumber truck hit her car. In her right ear, she suffered mild hearing loss due to neck injuries. Mercury discontinued her in October 1967. In January 1968, Margie and Robert divorced. She later signed another record deal with Sound Stage 7 in February 1968 and released two singles, but they were not hits. She was dropped from the label in September 1969. She became mentally unstable in 1970, disappeared from public life, retired from singing, and continued to use drugs and alcohol for the rest of her life..

On July 14, 1973, Hendrix died in New York, New York at the age of 38. Due to a lack of evidence, the official cause of death is unknown, and there was no autopsy. According to most sources, she died from a heroin overdose,[10] but there are also rumors that she died in a car accident or from cancer. In addition, some sources claim that she died of poverty

In her earlier years, Marjorie Hendrix (March 13, 1935 - July 14, 1973) was best known for her work with the Raelettesyne Hendrix. It is sometimes spelled "Hendricks.".

Ray Charles Robinson was an American singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer who died on June 10, 2004. He preferred to be called "Brother Ray" by his friends and fellow musicians. The Genius was often referred to as him. Glaucoma blinded Charles during childhood.

his father

From October 18, 1957 to December 4, 1958, Ray Charles was married to Bea. They met while Ray was on tour and Bea was working as a secretary. It was a secret wedding and they kept it a secret for nearly two months before telling anyone. Bea was Ray's only wife, and he always referred to her as his "baby."

How many wives did Ray Charles have? His family consisted of only two married couples, but he had four children. His marriage to Eileen Williams lasted only a year. While he was still married to Eileen, his second wife gave birth to three children. In 1966, he had a child with Reatha, and in 1968, he had a child with Mary-Chantal Bertrand. In 1977, shortly after he fathered a son named Vincent, Bea divorced him. Nine children were born to him and Bea during their marriage.

Ray Charles left his children how much money?

Ray Charles left half a million dollars to each of his twelve children and the remainder of his $75 million estate to Ray Charles Enterprises. After Charles' death, Ray Charles Enterprises was absorbed into the foundation.

In 2004, Ray Charles, 74, died at his Beverly Hills home. He was a pianist, composer, singer, bandleader, and major figure in the history of soul music. Ray Charles' most significant beneficiary is the Ray Charles Foundation, which provides assistance to vision and/or hearing-impaired people. Twelve of his children received a share of the trust fund. This led Charles' children to believe an increase in royalties from a subsequent sale would make up their inheritance. As a result of this confusion, Charles' manager and others associated with his music and the Ray Charles Foundation have had legal disputes. The foundation successfully argued in court that the children couldn't benefit from the estate of their father in 2015.

What was Ray Charles' married life like?

Both Ray Charles' marriages ended in divorce. He married Eileen Williams in 1955. Before divorcing in 1959, they had a son named Ray Jr. In 1963, Charles married Della Beatrice Howard Robinson. Charles Robinson and Sheila Raye Charles were their children before they divorced in 1977.
