Abstract
YouTube is a web-site that many people all around the world can use to share their video files. It also allows you to have access to the very latest videos. These days usage of educational videos of it has been increasing. This research aims to study the impact of these kinds of videos on learner autonomy of students in Iran that are studying English as their second language (EFL) merely on grammar. A quasi-experimental design was adopted for this research. Based on this research there are two groups consisting of five participants, one is experimental group and the other one is control group. by a pre-posttest covering all subjects of the grammar lessons. The members of the experimental group were taught by three YouTube videos but the control group with just using a textbook. comparing the results of the t-tests of both groups proves that the YouTube videos surely have considerably a positive effect on the autonomy of the EFL students. YouTube must be considered and recommended as an effective instrumental because it is highly enhancing and can be an efficient teaching resource.
