Saffron Halva Recipe


Saffron Halva Recipe:


Ingredients:

- 1 cup flour

- 1 cup sugar

- 1 cup vegetable oil

- 3 cups water

- 1 tsp saffron

- 1 tsp cardamom powder

- 1/2 cup slivered almonds or pistachios (optional)


Instructions:

1. In a large pot, add water and saffron and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes until the water turns golden yellow.

2. In a separate pan, heat the vegetable oil and flour over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture turns golden brown.

3. Slowly pour the saffron water into the flour mixture while stirring constantly.

4. Add sugar and cardamom powder to the mixture and stir until the sugar has dissolved.

5. Reduce the heat to low and stir the mixture for 10-15 minutes until it thickens and pulls away from the pan's sides.

6. Remove from heat and pour the halva mixture into a greased dish.

7. Optional: garnish with slivered almonds or pistachios.

8. Let it cool down and cut into small squares or diamond shapes.
