There is some special thing about writer's, I think all they write all they have in their minds are come from the analysing. At first they start to analysis themselves, their behavior, their emotions, their relationships with family and friends and in fact analysis their life. If they could achieve the Transparent and clear picture of that, then start to discovering the others life. And goes beyond them as much as they can.
