Tarasher (New Style Poetry) is a form of poetry introduced by Amin Afzalpour in February 2019. It places a strong emphasis on visual and sensory aspects of poetry, so that Tarasher poetry not only focuses on meaning and concepts but also prioritizes the forms and appearances of letters. In contrast to the foundational elements of poetic language that serve as the core of traditional poetry, Tarasher relies on linguistic techniques and poetic maneuvers, which are considered the outer layer of poetic language. These techniques, by distancing poetic language from everyday language, assist the poet in reaching the essence of poetry. These techniques can be categorized as omission, condensation, repetition, synthesis, antiquarianism, populism, norm evasion, and grammatical innovations.
Amin Afzalpour, in Tarasher, particularly emphasizes the use of condensation. Condensation is one of the most crucial elements employed in this poetic style. It entails associating a word with an image in such a way that not only does it not diminish the word's semantic weight, but it also enhances its semantic significance by linking it with the corresponding image. In essence, Tarasher is a fusion of words (linguistic techniques) and imagery (poetic texture), which will give a new shape and style to poetry, whether it is meant to be read or seen. The meaning, whether complete or a substantial portion of it, must be conveyed. The form of this type of poetry should not encompass a specific image (human, animal, object, etc.), but rather a part of letters and words. In this type of poetry, even without seeing the image, the meaning should be conveyed.
